Turn browser workflows into Notion guides
Record a task once in Chrome and get a step-by-step guide with screenshots. It’s saved as a regular Notion page, not in a separate app.
- Works in Chrome Runs in the sidepanel, next to the app you’re documenting.
- Notion sign-in No new account or password to manage.
- Your databases Publish to one you already use, or start from our free template.
- Stays private Steps stay in your browser until you publish. Passwords are skipped.
From one run-through to a Notion guide
You do the task once. Snaption handles the screenshots, the write-up, and the upload to Notion.
- 1Do the task once
Snaption writes the steps while you work
Open the sidepanel, press Start, and go through the process as usual. Every action becomes a numbered step with a screenshot.
- Step titles written as plain instructions
- The click marked on every screenshot
- Typing, selections, and tab changes captured too
- 2Look it over
Fix the draft before anyone sees it
The draft waits in the sidepanel until you're happy with it. Delete a stray click, rename a step, or zoom a screenshot onto the part that matters.
- Rename, delete, and reframe any step
- Pause on a private screen, then resume
- Discard the capture and start over
- 3Publish
One click turns it into a Notion page
Pick a database and press Save. Snaption builds the page with numbered steps and screenshots, then opens it in a new tab.
- Screenshots are uploaded into Notion itself
- The page lands in the database you pick
- If the upload fails, retry without recapturing
- 4Keep it with your docs
It lives with the rest of your docs
The guide is an ordinary page in your database. Edit it, comment on it, link it from onboarding, or move it through your review statuses.
- No separate guide library to maintain
- Comments, links, and sharing work as usual
Start from a free Notion template
A ready-made database for your guides, so you don't have to build one from scratch.
Keep guides in Notion, not another tool
Separate capture tools keep the finished guide in their own workspace. Snaption publishes it to your Notion database and stays out of the way.

Useful whenever the answer is “let me show you how”
If the process happens in the browser and the final guide belongs in Notion, Snaption is the narrow tool for the job.
Frequently asked questions
Where do my guides end up?
In the Notion database you pick. Each guide is an ordinary Notion page with numbered steps and screenshots, so you can edit, share, and move it like any other page.
What can Snaption capture?
Clicks, typing, selections, supported form controls, and tab changes on regular http and https pages. It can't capture Chrome settings pages, other extensions, local files, or workflows inside iframes.
Does my capture leave the browser before I publish?
No. Captured steps and screenshots stay in your browser until you publish them to Notion. Usage analytics never includes captured content, and you can turn it off in the extension's settings.
Does it record passwords?
Password field values are never recorded. Screenshots still show whatever is visible on screen, so look through the steps before you publish.
Can I update a guide after publishing?
Yes, edit the page in Notion like any other. Snaption doesn't change pages it already published, so to refresh a guide, edit it directly or capture the process again.
What's coming next?
Blurring sensitive details, voice notes during capture, and AI help with step titles. If you need something else, write to getsnaption@gmail.com.
Does it record video?
No. Snaption captures steps and screenshots, not video or audio.
